Safety Training and Substance Abuse Programs
As drivers being our most valuable assets, here at Safeway Non-Emergency Transportation recognize the significance of safe transportation. Here are a somethings we require from our drivers to be considered to join us.
Our drivers undergo an intensive screening and training program to ensure the quality of the practice of sage transportation. Safeway requires all drivers to complete two weeks of training with management before transporting any of our patients. Our drivers are professionally trained to become experienced in the appropriate loading and unloading of passengers, applying complete understanding of wheelchair safety in and out of the vehicle, how to operate the lift automatically and manually, and exceptional customer service skills. We make sure that our drivers have extensive knowledge on reading maps and of the service area itself. All drivers are required to have and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications by an accredited organization. We also demand that our drivers pass a back-round check, pre-employment drug test, as well as random drug tests performed during their entire employment at Safeway to ensure the quality of drivers staffed with our company.
